Kate Bradbury - One Garden Against The World - YEAR ONE EVENT!
Join Kate Bradbury as she discusses her new book; One Garden Against The World, In Search of Hope in a Changing Climate.
Wildlife gardening expert Kate Bradbury rallies us all in the fight against climate change and habitat loss by urging us to connect to the natural world via the spaces outside our back door.
How do we look for positive ways to keep going in a changing world? Climate anxiety is at an all-time high and can leave us feeling powerless to make a difference – particularly when living in the UK, one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. In her new book, One Garden Against the World, award-winning nature and garden writer Kate Bradbury offers us an uplifting path forward by sharing how she’s taking a stand against the climate crisis in her own garden.
Worldwide habitat losses and temperature increases threaten all life on Earth, but Kate uses her garden to connect with and provide homes for nature to live and thrive. She welcomes all wildlife, from bees, birds and bats to hedgehogs and what seems to be the entire frog population of Brighton and Hove. Her love for the natural world is infectious and inspirational. Kate’s story shows us why we should all care, along with how anyone can make changes to our outdoor spaces, no matter how big or small, to create lasting, meaningful change for nature, both here and the world over.
Kate Bradbury is an award-winning writer specialising in wildlife gardening.
She is the author of The Bumblebee Flies Anyway, edits the wildlife pages for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine and has a Country Diary column in the Guardian. As well as her writing, Kate also presents on TV – she and her garden have featured on BBC’s Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Gardeners’ World.
“If you ever doubted that you can help change the world, READ THIS BOOK… One Garden Against the World shows how the actions we take in our gardens, allotments, balconies or window boxes can both nurture vital habitats and wildlife and offer a source of solace and hope. Bradbury makes a powerful case that gardening is not just a personal passion but a political necessity.”
