Join us from 4pm at the bookshop on 22ndNovember for a live reading and craft event with Dawn Casey, author of Nature Tales, a collection of 18 folk tales, myths and age-old stories of animals, birds and plants from all around the world - from North America to Brazil, Ireland, Morocco, Finland, Mexico, Poland, Japan, Germany and Siberia. Retold by award-winning author Dawn Casey and with intricate artwork by Anja Sušanj.

Dawn will be performing an extra special reading of one of her heart-warming tales, The Apple Tree Man, as the lights are dimmed and illustrations come to life. With an apple-themed festive craft following, this event will be fun for the whole family. You’ll even have a chance to ask any burning questions and get your book signed.

“This beautiful collection of nature tales is just the ticket […] it’s sure to enchant and inspire children of all ages. Beautifully illustrated, it opens up the wonder of nature to young readers – the perfect antidote to the modern world, as well as a wonderful way to make memories that will last a lifetime.” – Woman & Home

Dawn Casey’s work is inspired by her deep love of nature, her respect for the tales of old, and her delight in the wonder of the world. Her collection The Barefoot Book of Earth Tales won the Gold Nautilus Award for books that 'support conscious living, green values, spiritual growth and positive social change.' Dawn published Winter Tales in 2020 and Nature Tales in 2024. She lives with her family, on the South Downs of Sussex.
